If I recall correctly, the long day-night transition was due to longer load times in the Famicom Disk System. So, I'd say that indeed it's unintended to take that long in a cartridge.

Great concept, your execution was also nice. Some games got unjustly trashed and put aside, the hacking scene fixed a lot of them; in this case we can enjoy cv2 with a good translation.

I totally agree with you on Simon's Quest. Castlevania II was one of my favorite games especially upgrading your whips. The flame whip was awesome. AVGN was way off with his criticism on this game

8 second transition is quite long, even for old games. And it can be done better, even avgn mentions a mod that exists that corrects that to a message that goes away in 2 seconds.

James himself has said that he actually likes the game and he pretended to dislike it as the Nerd character purely for entertainment.

If you're taking AVGNs videos so serious that you have to make a whole series of videos to debunk him, then you have totally missed the point of AVGN to begin with. This is pathetic.

I think it's a joke

The annoying part is a lot of these arent actually problems, James just wanted to complain about shit to then maybe make a joke in the same avenue. But holding it against a game that you spam buttons so you cant see certain things. When if you were ever doing a 2nd run having to sit there is painful or if you're speedrunning you dont want that time. Or like the comments about 8 seconds being too long for a casual play.. Plus the translation stuff isnt on the game itself. It led to localizers who now think they have ultimate power to translate bad on purpose in any media. But now people do recite AVGN in character gripes as actual gripes with a game. In reality most people understand James isnt that great at games, so a lot of gripes he has nobody has. But not those bringing them up as if genuine criticism.

I like this video a lot! Not a fan of the game though. Personally I find it a little boring.

Of course he exagerrated, but everyone who was around them knows why. Games were FUCKING ruthless and unforgiving then. Often no instructions or discernable story. Just throw you in a level and off you go. Then the fact that developers weren't held to the same standards as today. He was funny because we all felt how avgn felt, and if you had friends around the computer ( yes before smartphones but after broadband internet in every home)that even vaguely remembered video games, it was a good time. Stop hating. And your fuckin late to the party. And your voice is fucking torture to listen to

He does plays these games bad on purpose, and make those "complaints" for the sake of comedy... and hes very good at that.

I think this is a good concept for a video series but I think you should at some point also make it clear that most of the complaints the Nerd makes are greatpy Exxaggerated for the sake of comedy and entertainment in the video.

This is a great idea for a series, please keep going!

The game is fun at first but halfway through it starts to get boring, you can tell by the end they ran out of time/money.

You should do one based on egoraptors sequelitis videos. This is a good idea though, the nerd character (how i saw him anyway) was always meant to amplify how we react when these moments ruin our game time 😂

Castlevania 2 and Bugs Bunny's Birthday Blowout were nowhere near as bad as he made them out to be. Especially the latter. He flat out refused to play the game as intended. Then got mad and called the game shit. Wow. Next up, we play Mario 3 and never use the leaf.

Nope. I disagree with this. I personally hate this game, and I hated it long before James ever started making videos. This game really DOES suck and I agree with all the things he said, because they were the same things I said back when I had this peice of crap.

Cool series concept. That aside, maybe make the cuss censor a little less screeching/striking. As the Nerd tends to cuss often, it'll be heard often.
